lease space and a loan

Jacob left just now to drop off a lease proposal to the owner of the space we're looking at. Our hope is he'll except it and we'll start leasing next month. The space next to the one we want is now available as well.

We applied for a loan last week and we were denied. First rejection over with! Applied to another and should hear back next week, applying for another today.

With the lease and a loan we'll feel comfortable to force ahead! Next step I believe will be the application for a grant from the city of Auburn Hills.

changes

Change to me is a sign of growth! And necessary for growth!
Each year I seek to improve my studio and my own teaching and musicianship. Small, consistent steps and goals bring the best results.

In September, I'll be adding a new teacher to the mix which is a change for me who usually does everything myself. It'll be a mix of letting go and learning to lead!
In September I'll be moving students to larger shared lessons up to 5. This is creating some apprehension for some students and rightly so till they experience it! All of the best teachers are teaching in larger shared lessons and I want to be one of those most successful teachers!
In Septemeber the studio will be at 60-70 students including Playful Piano students. That's also a first for me! Last year in Septemember I was at about 40 students.

Early next year we'll be opening a new commercial space and that'll be a big huge change! It's amazingly exciting and scary! Working with hubby Jacob as a business partner is a small change as well. Hiring a marketting consultant, doing a business plan, getting a loan, applying for a grant, signing a lease agreement.. all new things for me!

Goal is in January to start with 100 Simply Music students and 30 other instrument students! That's a big goal and a big change!

I can only say that through the Teaching from the Future Coaching calls through Simply Music every facet of my life is changed! I am truly a different person than I was last year. Relying on God to help facilitate growth and to be open to growth has been amazing. Making the time to get up very early in the morning for Bible/prayer time, then practicing/composing, then exercising and eating has allowed for my intrity and priorities to be in tact!

new advancements!

This month is an exciting one!
I hired a teacher, Rachel, who will be starting training and start teaching some this summer for my Playful Piano class.
There's another exciting venture as well! We're looking into commercial space to expand. The goal is to open in January or February of next year in downtown Auburn Hills!

My husband, Jacob, will be the 'manager' of the business there and I'll be teaching some there and some at home.

In September my goal is for Lozier Music to have 70 students.

expanding

I'm looking at hiring teachers to help me teach Simply Music piano method. I'm excited about this new venture! I'd never thought my home studio would grow to over 60 students and an anticipated 70 starting in September. With Michigan's bleak economy, parents still find the money to bring their children for piano lessons. Many understand the benefit of the arts!

If you know someone that is good for children or adults (or both!) and is willing to get some training and be paid a good hourly wage to teach please let me know. Prior piano or musical experience is helpful, but not necessarily. The teacher training is a breakthrough in allowing people to train to teach an method that allows everyone to experience a relationship with music!
